How I find camping spots

Harvest Hosts

An annual membership fee of $160 gives you access to a map showing 'host' locations all over North America. Hosts are a mix of local businesses with space for parking, or farms with vanlifers on them who want to pay it forward (or back) from their time on the road. You're encourage to make a purchase from businesses, but it's not essential. It's safe, private land to park on. I used this across the whole of Canada and it was excellent.

Wild Camping

I use iOverlander to find wild camping spots - this can be a bit risky as you don't always know what you're getting until you arrive, but you can save spots you find that are great, and leave reviews for future travellers.

Paid Campgrounds

This is always my last resort, but in places like The Rockies it is essential. Showers, potable water, dump stations and toilets are certainly a perk.
